1. STOP THE ITCH

For fighting flakes, dandruff and a dry, itchy scalp, blend 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice with equal portions olive oil and water; rinse hair, towel-dry and massage into the scalp, all the way down the roots. Let it sit and soak in for around 15-20 minutes, then rinse it out and wash hair with an antidandruff shampoo.

2. MAX VOLUME

For restoring bounce to lifeless strands, mix a super-volumising elixir with half a cup of honey, two tablespoons of olive oil, two small, ripe avocados and one egg yolk. Apply on the entire head and leave on for two hours until hardened. Shampoo and condition as usual and blot dry with paper towels.

3. MOISTURE, SANS OILINESS

Egg yolks are rich in fat and proteins that are naturally moisturising, and the whites contain bacteria-eating enzymes, which remove unwanted oils. Egg whites for oily hair and yolks suit dry hair. Coat hair with the egg wash, leave it on for 20 minutes, rinse with cold water and shampoo as usual.

4. CHUG ALONG

Nothing adds bounce and vitality to fine or limp hair like yeast, found in the most unlikely beauty beverage: beer! Mix half a cup of flat beer (shake the gas out), one teaspoon of light sunflower oil and a raw egg. Apply to just-shampooed, blow-dried damp hair, leave it in for 15 minutes, then rinse out with cold water.
